Ingredients
- 1/2 cup masoor dal (split red lentil) (washed) OR moong dal
- 3 onions (sliced)
- 4 Garlic (lehsun) cloves (crushed)
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 3 tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp oil
- Salt to taste
Serving
- Lemon juice to taste
Garnish
- 1 tbsp steamed rice (chawal)
Method
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions for 1 minute.
- Add garlic and chili powder, and fry again for about 1-2 minutes.
- Add 6 tea cups of water, tomatoes, masoor dal, and salt.
- Cook in a pressure cooker till the first whistle.
- Once cooked, blend in a mixer.
- Boil for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with lemon juice.
