Easy to make, this Carrot Raita is the perfect complement with your meal! Healthy and yummy, it is going to leave you feeling refreshed!
Ingredients
- 2 cups Grated/ Finely chopped carrot
- 1 1/2 cup Plain yogurt/Curd
- 1/2 tsp Roasted cumin powder
- Salt as required
Seasoning
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 Green chilli (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Oil
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Preparation
Wash, peel, and grate the carrots.
Method
- Mix the grated carrot, salt, and curd in a bowl.
- Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
- When the seeds start spluttering, add the finely chopped chili and sauté very slightly.
- Add the carrot and yogurt mix.
- Sprinkle some roasted jeera powder and mix everything well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
Note
- Use fresh carrots.
- Make sure you use fresh curd for the recipe. The curd should not be sour at all.
- Dry roast 2-3 tbsp of jeera seeds and grind into a fine powder. Easy to store, you can use it for all raithas/pachadi as it adds flavour and taste to the dish.
