Delicious and filling, it’s the perfect meal!
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 bay leaf
- 2-3 cloves
- 2 green cardamoms
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
Method
- Soak the brown rice for 1/2 an hour.
- Mix the sugar with 3 tablespoons of water. Heat it on a pan until the sugar dissolves.
- Heat oil, add cumin seeds, chopped onion, cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaf.
- Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- To this, add the brown rice and salt.
- Stir-fry for a while, and add 4 cups of water to the pan.
- Cover and let it cook on slow flame until the rice is done.
- Alternatively, you can cook it in a pressure cooker for 15-20 minutes.
